Of the six angels that I have in my tank (1500mm), two pairs have formed, with each pair occupying opposite sides of the tank. The remaining two hang around the middle of the tanks most of the time. The two pairs have spawned lots of times, but the eggs are devoured before much can come of them. I have noticed that some of the angels have taken a bit of a beating during the scuffles that break out over territory every now and again. It looks as if they have lost some scales on there sides, but I am not sure. I am planning on relocating some of the angels to another tank as soon as it is available.
Now the question, is it possible that the scales could have been lost during a scuffle, and do they grow back again.
Should I be taking some precautions to prevent the injured area from becoming infected, and if so, what meds should I use.

As long as your tank is regularly maintained and your fish are fed a good variety of foods - they will usually heal themselves up when it comes to scruffle injuries and there shouldn't be any fungus problems. HOWEVER keep an eye on the injuries and should it become infected treat immediately.

If it gets infected it'll usually be fungus growth. I prefer using salt for the fungal growths (salt seems to work well if you catch the fungus as it starts and before it gets out of hand). If the fungus growth is bad then opt for one of the fungal medications, I personally have never had success with the Tetra anti-fungal medication but the Waterlife products seem to work well. :)

    I've seen some of Veegal's breeding pairs...

They often mistake themselves for Piranha, they try and eat your hand...
I dont think I've seen more aggressive angels in my life...

thats the thing about keeping a group of angels, their quarrels are really serious especially when it comes to territory and breeding time

A pair have got some wrigglers in the 2m community tank - they now own half the tank and there are about 26 angels crowded in the other half.
