    I'm preparing an existing planted tank to breed dantum Angels. Don't want to remove all of the plants if I don't have to. I've removed neons and Bolivian Rams. There are still about 6-10 cories, a blue panaque and about 4 Rio Ucayali ancistrus left in the tank. Should I remove these? I intend to remove the eggs if the Angels lay on the intended slab. If not, they'll have to stay. Any advice would be appreciated.

    I would personally remove all the other fish.
    Even if they don't eat the eggs, they could stress the parents, and the male may not cover the eggs fully.

    Thanks @Reedfish. There shouldn't be a problem with that. They've been spawning successfully in the community tank where they currently live.

    @Broder,
    maybe just me, but I always think it's better to breed in a dedicated setup.

    A dedicated tank would be easier, but I'm maxed out with tanks now. I already spend about 2,5 hours a week doing water changes etc.

    You could also put up some sort of plastic mesh divider in the tank and isolate the pair that way.

    I would agree with a tank of their own. Where did you get your dantum Angels from?

    Thanks

    Got them from @jabula 7749 some time ago.
    Haha... You know how it goes... You tell yourself that you'll only keep as many tanks as you can clean within 2 hours. At 2,5 hours you practice getting it down to 2hours 15minutes..... Yay, time for a new tank:)

    I do daily water changes on my 15 tanks with about 5 minutes effort.
    Refill runs slowly for about an hour, while I do other things like feeding, sipping a coffee, etc.
