Ok. So i have decided to try my hand at angel cichlid breeding.

I have bought 8 angels from @howard a month ago, and all still alive and very healthy.

They must be about 3 -4 months old now, and guessing they should start paring up in the next 3 months or so.

So i have decided to be one step ahead. Got a total of 4 sponge filters cycling now.

    Bought a 3 ft and a 2 ft today
    Nice solid blue backgrounds
    Bigboy 4 port air pump
    Matching blue air tubing

    Still have to buy
    1 more 2 ft
    Heaters, 2x 100 watts and 1 x 200 watt
Lights, LED tube lights from china mall
    Perhaps hob filters if needed

Im covered with the breeder stand.
Brother in law and me made a deel. He will build me one if i give him a tank...

Will update with some pics tomorow.

Will use a 2 ft for a breeding pair, a 2 ft for fry
And 3 ft for a grow out.

Will have a sponge filter in both 2 ft tanks, and 2 sponge filters in the 3 ft grow out.

Should i also install hob filters in the 3 tanks in conjunction with sponge filters? Or should the sponge filters be fine by themselves?

But yes, will update with pics tomorow of items i bought so long.

2 small ones cycling in convict tank

    2 cycling in guppy tank.

When the system is up, i will buy more filters and cycle them, just because its better to always have spair filters thats ready to go

Ok, so i got some feedback on materials for the stand.
Will be getting the square tubing for free.

For 2 lengths of angle iron i will pay R200
And R200 for welding rods and a disk for grinder.

But i want to see if i cant make a better deal with brother in law. Will give him the complete 2 ft with hob and heater and lid, then R200 ontop. Wont be using that hob in my setup, and thinking it threw, i would rather prefer starting up with all new equipment.

So it wont be that much of a loss to me.
Actually a win win, because then he wont have to buy anything, and he can start up with a cycled filter thats only 4-5 months old...

He will come around tonight to come discuss the last detail with me. Then a big big maybe i can have the stand here by Sunday.

UPDATE: I got my other 2 ft.
    Tank collection complete.

I only need my stand still, lights and heaters.
Then we can get the setup going...

Update: my stand is almost done.
We were gana finish it yesterday, but did the cancer walk instead.... and brother in law had people over, so we will complete it on Wednesday after voting...

It holds 95 kg sofar, with no stress at all... lol

Also got some led tube lights. 2 ft t8 lights at R90
Had t5 lights at another shop, but for this application the t8 lights will work better...

Also got the paint for the stand and cable ties.

    Getting my heaters this weekend.

But yes, the basic system should be up by Friday, and 100% running by Sunday.

Any progress is good progress, even if it is slow going.
