    Very nice. It's a really good feeling when you get your fish to Breed.

    @Rich.P, very nice fish and great photos too. I'll be interested to see how the babies turn out with a B/E golden Dad & a normal Mom... Is this the first time they have bred for you?

    This is the second breeding. The first bunch got wiped out by a velvet infection that I couldn't stop in time.

    The second bunch threw out 40 eggs which I raised separately as the male abandoned them.

    The third bunch was also kicked out but I was unable to save them as he had not fertilised them.

    These little guys are quite stunning. I am keeping one of them and selling the rest to my favourite fish store. They were quite excited when I showed them this pics. So if you support Fish for Africa you will be seeing these guys there near the end of March I hope.

    @OBI, I will.

    He was telling me that it is very rare for these two"types" of Ancistrus to breed.

    The babies are black with gold spots, when viewed under normal tank lights.

    I actually gave him one as a gift for all the help he has given me.

    Fry is beautifull patterned btw. I am afraid they don't inhert the yellow spots of the male and the rest of the female.

    Easily memorable when they produce such pretty fry!

    Quite frustrated though at the moment! The heater in my fry tank just jammed on, luckily whilst I was looking at it. These ViaAqua heaters appear to be rubbish!

    Any suggestions for a good but not very expensive brand?

    I'm Dutch Rich, so I don't know brands overthere. Think eheim/jager, fluval, aso are good ones. But as said : there will be other members that can tell you better.
