    Oh these oddballs, really :p

Try and get a nice big piece of driftwood, and get the plants to grow emmersed. This way, you get the best of both worlds, plants "in tank" and fish can't get to plants.
Tank looks great by the way!

Thanks forgot to add . The tank is covered now needed a way to mount all the lights and and and .the noise levels of the overflow and sound reflections from the glass were just driving me crazy so I made a cover with ply and have thick 10 mm ply varnished and cut in the garage with sound diffusers glued onto 3 sides . Should get time this weekend to install it .

Does she swim with her moth open deliberately when she swims through the plants, or does she swim with her mouth open regardless of plants?
Looks like there is still a lot left, if she isn't tearing the whole plant loose from the substrate and jut tearing the leaves, I think the vallis will survive.
Oh and btw that 2ft tank is beautiful, looks like a natural planted tank.

No she only opens her mouth to rip the plants out ,if she doesn't get enough out on the first attempt she will go back to the same spot again turn sideways , get the whole stalk in her mouth and shake it loose pulling the roots up out of the substrate repeatedly .so time will tell how many survive .

Such a pity she wont leave the plants alone because it really makes that tank with the green column in the middle.

Perhaps look at attaching the val stems to a grate of some kind with cable ties under the gravel, Something like UG filter plates perhaps. At least the plants wont be uprooted and will continue to grow, possibly outgrow her attacks.

    Thanks for comments
I must be honest , I am getting bored with the tank lately thinking of going with a standard 2 m ,with tons of little schooling fish , any one keen on a monster tank and Jardini send me a PM.

My Jardini would go crazy in that beast of a tank, one day I'd probably be able to afford it haha. Good luck with the sale

Mmm , I think its the tank that's boring me ,at the end of the day there is no cure for MTS and with fish keeping there is always something new you want to try , I would love to go the same size but with 1m height .time will tell .
So for now just fishing with ideas really , not 100% on getting rid of either .
