    Thanks
Well the tank has been running 4 weeks with orca bio cubes . I haven't done a water change in 5 weeks just weekly top ups with prime , parameters are all the same as day one . Guys get yourself bio cubes I am now fully convinced and converted I will never run a system without them ever again .

Now that is very good news indeed. No water changes in 5 weeks - WoW.

How often do you wipe your glass?

Ummm Er , ja been a bit lazy on that side of late been away doing my end of year branch visits for the last 3weeks .so will go back to the once weekly glass clean now that I'm off . On a second point the tank is now plant less again not by my choice but the Jardinis here's is a current pic sorry for crappy iPad pic .
On a side note I'm note advocating no water changes , I have large amounts of bio filtration , a lot of orca bio cubes to reduce nitrates etc and a few fish for the amount of water and size of tank with very light feeding and water parameters are monitored regularly .

Hey bro, your engine of your setup is awesome, I am glad that the Tiger barbs are doing good they look happy in the sump.

You probably got thousand of rands worth of bio media in that sump LOL

Well done on this epic setup bud.

Ya pity . Would the bio mass they cubes release not be good for the plant . I know my tigers are fat as can be from eating it and invthe marine side the corals love it as well ?

interesting - i will have to investigate. But what i do know is that i have to dose NPK and others everyday so if the cubes are going to remove the nutrients, then there is no point. By the way, with the amount of plants i have in the tanks, i have very clean water

True I think the cubes will be better for the non planted heavily stocked tanks out there .

how would the fish have cities permits as well if it is illegal in SA in the first place as well
my other favorite is the fish comes with a certificated that is is a gold high back or chilli red from thia land just wonder if they can fake a rolex in thia land and smuggle a endangered species how much weight does certificate hold

Agreed .what a stunner thanks . I have seen similar posts online for AV products ,even RC products . When a pair of 30k speakers is all of sudden 5k . Eft only before viewing .collection at Bruma lake .west African dialect , then I know it is a scam .

Bottom line Asian Arowana are not obtainable here and these scamsters now it and take advantage of your greed to sucker you . The time will come when we can get legal Asian Arowana at market related prices here (dropping every day in the east ,there are just to many farms to sustain the high prices ) and on that day you will see an exercise in madness part 2 room size mega project .cheers

    Update time .

So the tank had a small cosmetic change ,
Decided to try a alternative to adding plants , instead of planting new small plants decided to take the small way overgrown 2 ft and place it inside the the big tank ,remove the side s and cover with bottom with a thin layer of the big tanks sand , thus not loosing any of the small tanks ADA soils or disturbing the plants , awesome idea in theory , but after 2 weeks it seems the JARDINI has made it very clear that she does not want plants . I have 8 t5 s running so light not a problem but the jardini swims thru the plants mouth open and ripping them out seems to be the problem . So that idea was a epic fail . I also have tried introducing two different male jardini s to the tank a 30cm stunner who she proceeded to decimate with in 30 min and 50cm big boy who lasted the night peacefully but also got severely assaulted the next day . Both were removed before any thing bad could happen to them and returned or swoped .

Next step , remove whats left of the plants and add a certain type fish that I can not mention that a friend gave to me .
