Can anyone tell me a little more about this species other than the fact that they lay eggs and both parents take care of the young?

They seem to also be in the dwarf type range, but by way of 'personality' I'm not finding too much....

    Please help me out....

    TIA

@firemanmuzz & @BBQ, thanks for those, going to check them out and will decide from there. Very pretty little fish though.

Has no one actually owned these guys, I would like a little first-hand knowledge if at all possible. Are they anything like Dwarf Flag Cichlids or are they more like the Apistogrammas? Peaceful or very territorial? Do they get along with one another or is it to be only one breeding pair per tank?

    TIA

Very peaceful for a cichlid, but is territorial
when spawning. Don't be tempted to keep it with very vigorous species as
thomasi is a shy and retiring little fish. Good tankmates include small
characins, other African dwarf cichlids, Corydoras and smaller
anabantoids. Males are aggressive towards one another and sufficient space must
be provided if more than one pair is to be kept. Allow around a square foot of
    floor space per male.

ive never met a cichlid that doesnt like its territory especially against other cichlids or gets aggressive when guarding its offspring ,these seem to be part of the characteristics of any cichlid, even if the profile says peaceful.just my view

@Skye01: I also investigated them, and were told by people in the know that they are very aggressive, not nice to keep.... I'll find the post for you, was on the forum.....

Cichlids always get a bad reputation, but its not always true.

I have firemouths with a very big blue acara/green terror, kribs, a flying fox and a clown knife and they live happy together.
