I'm in Pretoria, so I can't help you out with any moss, but I'm sure there's someone in your area who would be more than happy to help you out.

Sorry dude, I'm not gonna have any free time tomorrow. But I'll be free in about a month's time if you don't get any from another source.

Prof. Dirk might actually be selling moss though, maybe find him on the site and ask?

You most likely need a minimum amount of posts to use the PM system.
So go do an introduction in the new members section and post some details and pictures about what you're keeping :)

You need minimum 10 posts to be allowed to send a PM

His member name is Dirk Belstedt. He is extremely busy at the moment, so your best bet is to get from Dolphin. He has moss balls in stock at the moment that he recently imported. He's in Sandton, not too far from you.

Let me know if you do not get some soon and I will send you a panel of Java moss if your willing to pay postage. but it might be better to get somewhere around your area.

Java is the easiest to grow but not the best looking. The other mosses you need more specific parameters to get them to grow and look good.

ok cool, is it true that it also helps keep the water quality up? cause from wat i've read, plants dont do much for the water quality of your tank..

Water quality is your and the filters responsibility. Plants do help a LITTLE in controlling Nitrates. I think the main thing about plants are the look and the fish love it.

Is it possible for you to drive around during the day? I.e, are you a student, or a desk-jocky like most of us?

I can possibly put some java and spiky moss in a bank baggy for you to collect at our reception if you are able to make it to Parktown during working hours in the week? PM me
