With my new project that I am planning, I want to use some sort of background.
One of the ideas I am toying with, is to paint the background black. I have seen this on a few tanks and to me it does look really good.
I am actually even considering painting the sides black as well?
    Any comments or suggestions?
    TIA

If you want a background then plain colours are best in my opinion! Black or blue looks good :)

Before you paint black, take a black refuge bag and stick it to the background of the tank and you'll get the idea what it would look like :blink1:

I have a tank that is standing next to a window and put a black bag at the back to stop all the sunlight in the tank.

what i did was painted a piece of polystyrene black and stuck it on the back and non viewing sides. It also helps keep the tank insulated in the winter

I had a tank that was painted black on the sides as well as the back. I would not recomend it because your tank looks very small so just stick to painting the back black.

Now there's a novel idea. I liked that Reafer. +1 for that! (If it works)

Plant your tank densly....you'll soon realize that background pictures/scapes don't really matter that much

    Cheers

    Hi darryn
If seen a tank with a little Box about 1 cm deep attached to the back of the tank on one side was a mirrow partly covered with sand and stone glued on the other. The mirrow made the tank look double the depth and the stone didn't take any space away. looked stunning
