ADA Planted Nano

I've setup an experimental low tech nano tank to get a feel for freshwater planted tanks. Moving house in 2 months and then i'll be getting a larger CO2 tank.

Skimz IB20 tank
LED lighting
50W Sicce Heater
Skimz return pump (set on lowest setting).
Running filter floss, charcoal, filter sponge and finally AquaClear Biomax filter insert (Shall I replace this with Seachem Matrix?).

ADA Amazonia Aquasoil
Plants (no idea on names)
11 Cardinal Tetra

Flourish Excel daily
Seachem Stability

Advice/comments welcome

I will be very interested to see what kind of growth you get with that LED....

 

You're not alone there bud!

The tank is looking wicked dude! I love the white background. It really makes the tank look quite deep... ADA has a range of mist tanks which have a sandblasted white background... I think it's for this reason! Really creates a nice illusion of depth!

Some nice Microrasbora kubotai would be very nice in there.

Sean: I let the wife pic them (but these will be part of what's going into my bigger tank when I move house!)

 

Sean: I think I'm more excited about the bigger tank than buying my own place! Wonder if I should setup CO2 on this and move it to the other tank or just keep this low tech and setup the other with CO2?

 

LOL!! MTS is a killer dude... Seriously. I think you'll probably wind up shutting down this tank to get some bigger tanks! Hehehe...

Although, I would keep it as a low tech tank. It looks cool. Let it grow in and don't fiddle much.

 

All is going well with the nano! Still doing daily water changes and adding stability to ensure all is fine. All the fish happy and eating like pigs
