Ok guys, so here is the first of many write-ups regarding Aqua Design Amano products. The first is liquid plant fertilizer, or the Green Brighty Range.

The most important of the Range is the Brighty K. This product provides Potassium to the plants. One of the 3 major Macro Nutrients. It is easy to dose with the ADA product because it has a great push nozzle which doses 1ml per push. And you dose 1ml per 20 liters of water. So on a tank of 60L, you add 3ml per day. So a 500ml bottle will last you about 6 months. The philosophy of ADA is that the Aquasoil, dead plant matter, feeding fish and fish poop, supply the other macro nutrients to your plants, so you need to dose only Trace Elements. Which is where The Step series comes into play.

    ADA Green Brighty Step 1
Step 1 provides the trace elements and other micro elements needed by plants for the first 3 months after your initial tank setup. It promotes new leaf development in the initial stages of growth. The dosage is exactly the same as the Brighty K and it comes in the same bottle. So 1ml per 20L of water. Again, it will last you around 6 months on a 60L tank.

    ADA Green Brighty Step 2
So, Step 2. You add it to your tank from 3 months to 1 year after the initial setup. It has extra Iron in it, so that your plants don't lose colour and the red plants will turn even redder with the extra iron. It is formulated to supply the micro nutrients that the plants need for this 9 month period. And again, the dosage is 1ml per 20 liters.

    ADA Green Brighty Step 3
Step 3, it has been formulated to provide larger amounts of Iron as well as Trace Elements and it also has added Potassium. It provides the correct balance of nutrients for a tank older that 12 months. Dosage is also 1ml per 20L.

    Green Brighty Special Shade
Special Shade is just that. It is designed for plants like Cryptocorynes, Java Ferns, Moss, Anubius, etc... It provides the correct nutrients for shade loving plants. So if you have a tank dominated by Java Ferns, Anubius and such, then this is the fert for you. This fertilizer contains Nitrogen, Phosphorus as well as Potassium and Micro Nutrients. It is a comprehensive, all in one fert solution for your low light and shade loving plants.

    Green Brighty Special Lights
Formulated for fast growing, high light loving plants, the Special Lights has been formulated for plants like Riccia, Glosso, HC and fast growing stem plants. It also contains all the Macro Elements, Potassium, Phosphorus and Nitrogen. As well as trace elements to promote the healthy growth of plants and for promoting their colour. This is an all in one solution for a tank with High light and lots of plant growth.

Please note, that as with any fertilization regime, if you notice signs of deficiency in your plants, you need to readjust the doses accordingly. Also, signs of over dose are easy to spot, such as nuisance algae and such.

I hope this helps you guys make a simple, informed decision, when you next need to buy ferts.
