Brad what you do is get a polystyrene box from one of the pet shops down here..i know sean and richard at northlands normally have tons as they import alot of their marines in them...then ask who ever your buying the fish from if you can pack them in the shop just before you fly..you gonna pay a few rand as extra luggage if it ways a bit but that way they are packed sealed and everything is in one box on your flight with you..i do this often when moving fish from cape town back up to durban...hope this helps..

if your in pinetown george at pinetown pets in kings rd will also have boxes...

    Brads,

On local flights you can carry items that have water in them so you can take fish and plants as hand luggage as long as the dimensions and the weight does not exceed the amounts that you are allowed as hand luggage. You are allowed ONE item of hand luggage so then you cannot have additional hand luggage. Then you can also pack fishes into a polystyrene box and have it sent as part of your luggage at no extra cost, again as long as the total does not exceed your 20kg weight limit. The box gets labelled as fragile and then it gets sent via your normal luggage. No problem, no extra cost, no nothing.....

And guys, if you do not know how to spell how about running things through a spell checker? "wich shops", "but if it ways a bit"....... I battle to understand this stuff?

    Kind regards,

    Dirk
