    @Marco,
    Very very very nice. I am soooooo tempted to go the Discus route. Just wish my tap water was more "Discus friendly"

    Shoosh Neil... We all need to experiment sometimes. Hell, if I didn't, we wouldn't have ADA in south Africa.

    Hi

    @jedigenie-Parafree Green's, my goal and dream, but these two seem to just enjoy taunting me! Gonna take some special persuasion to get them to spawn it seems.

    @firemanmuzz, all my Discus are kept in barebottom's yes. These guys each have a breeding cube per pair, but thus far the "honeymoon suite" has no effect on these two. They just chowing my food!

    Ok.. I'm gonna ask a VERY stupid question.

    Why is people referring to "green" discus... I don't see any green in those fish.

    Hi @Zoom

    Haha, not really a stupid question, many people have said the same thing.
    Years ago, when Discus was first classified and named, their common names circled around the striations that covered the forehead and flank area. Thus we got fish named 'Blue discus' which has blue striations, 'Brown Discus' which has no striations in that area, and instead of calling them 'no striations' they went for the visible colour in that area which is brown. Green gets their name from the more 'green' striations. Its not green as in grass green, but is clearly more green when in the same tank as a blue or royal blue discus.

    Thats not the only way in which names were attributed so its not the whole pictute, its just the one relating to colour. At the moment Im not even sure what the latest accepted standard is in relation to Discus. Last I heard they were reduced to 3 accepted "types", and then later I read a specific type Brown Discus is now classified as a singular type so we were on 4 types. I dont know whats cooking now though

    Hey Marco can you maybe give us the dimensions of your breeding cubes? Those spotted greens are amazing to say the least!
