    The 2 rules
    * Tell your tarantula you are not food
    * Make sure your tarantula knows you are not going to harm it, otherwise it will bite you.

Talking about scorpions - had a few of these hanging around my out-side tanks a while back even found one in my bath ... no clue what they are or how venomous they may be. Let them be .... that's what I did.

@f-fish. That is a Uroplectes triangulifer. They are known to enter homes in Gauteng. Their sting is bad news for a few hour to maybe a day or two. It will be very nasty if it stings a kid or oldish person above 60 years. They normally enter bathrooms to drink water

@jpvd007. That big fat scorpion will probably put me 6 feet under because of my health. For healthy people it will be really bad news, pain that you cannot describe, headaches, increased heartrates, unstable bloodpresure(then high, then low). That is about most of what you will experience but it is normally worst than it sounds like. There isn't words to describe that feeling.

perfect thanks - have neither but good to know that these scorpions have an alternative use - other than just eating bugs and stuff.

i have to say i can appreciate them for their beauty but thats about it really. i used to be heavily arachnaphobic which i've conqured now but i'd rather live and let live. i was stung by a scorpion once years ago, just a lil brown one but i can say it hurt worse than 10 bee stings and i had funky hallucinations afterward, spiders covering the whole floor in a big black mass. so i wouldnt recomend it to anyone. we have alot of scopios at our farm and generally the rule is before you touch a piece of wood or you want to turn a rock over kick the wood a couple of time and use you hiking boot to flip the rock over. a couple of our staff have been stung by P. transvaalicus, nearest hospital is over an hour away. still wouldnt swop my farm for anything else.

@Skye01. I normally say that I must take ablack bucket with sweets in and a Transvaalicus between the sweets and at a work function give the people I don't like some sweets. Now that is a plan
