    Hi all,

As the title states i'm looking for a cube tank.
Starfire glass is preferable and 65-80 (80 being preferable).

Filtration and lighting is not required.
A nice stand is always welcomed but not necessary as i plan on having one built.

I am happy for a professional tank builder to contact me; however my endeavor's to find someone professional and most importantly being willing have failed.

    Based in Johannesburg, West.

If you get the tank builder, I have 83x83 12mm with polished edges

@Dolphin 83x83x? ,Please PM me pricing.
@Whoknows Would you be willing to use the pieces from Dolphin to make this tank.

Would a tank like this have to be braced, as i am looking for the cleanest possible solution. It will be an open top tank with a 180 view area.

I would like an overflow at the back; minimalist.

    Thank you.

I'd say euro bracing would be sufficient, top and bottom. The. Middle of the tank is then free. But let the tank builder advise. @Whoknows?

Normal price is R350, if you take 5 then R200 each.

@Dolphin ah i read this all wrong intially.

5 panes of glass for R1000.
Tank then would be 83x83x83? Id have to trim this down to 60H

This is the idea, however with an open top and a neater cabinet stand.

An overflow box would probably be best but open to suggestions.

This tank will be placed in a corner; much like this picture. So the left side and front will be displayed to the coffee and wine seating area of the house.

You may have a problem getting someone to cut 12mm glass.

We could use the peices from @Dolphin for the base if you want?

Eurobracing top and bottom should be enough. The tank isn't really long enough to add center braces. Will get in the way.

For the overflow you could do a slimline overflow up towards the top of the back. The only issue with this is the pipes would come back.

@Whoknows This sounds like a good plan.

Please quote me on 83x83x60H (Polished edges?) with a slimline overflow.
The only issue with this is the pipes would come back. - Could you explain the issue with the pipes in more detail please.

I've used this* calculator with the specs 83cm(L) 83cm(W) 57cm(H) and 10mm Glass (estimated) and get the following. -Calculated H based on fill level but tank will be 60cm(H)
367.4L - I would guestimate 355L with substrate and hardscape.
Filtration at 1800 L/ph - Will a slimline filter flow this much? - I'm sure we can calculate this based on diameter and velocity (gravity fed).

Will be R3500 including the glass from Dolphin.

So basically we'll be drilling the sump drain out the back of the tank instead of the bottom. That means the tank will need to sit 100mm forward to allow the pipes to go behind the tank. I think it would be better to take it out the bottom. Still with a slimline box but then all the way down.

50mm drain can handle 10000 L/PH so you'll be fine. Put a 2000 L/PH pump in the sump
