    Hi guys, so a couple weeks ago I mentioned the new 4ft, so now I need to think about stuff.

    What are the fert options? Should I go Co2, pfp or what are the other options?

    How many BN should I put in?
    I have 2 angels, 4 dwarf cichlids, 3 guppies, krib pair whip tail cat banjo cat and 3 pairs of sterbai cories, what other tank mates could in?
    Hand
    Let's not forget my one lonely skunk loach...

    I was thinking about some harlequins like 15. - 20. Maybe even another two black angels...
    Definitely need 4 or so white seam or starlight bristle nose's...

    I am currently growing out some crypts and a few other plants as well, moss's ... I have a couple nice ideas for the layouts but gonna take some time to find the right drift woods and plants...

    Not to mention the setup costs!

    Also not a bad idea... Hmmm

    Anyone know of an app that can help with a design and layout?

    You put this thread in the African forum for some reason... why not try out some African oddities? Or even not such oddities: African tetras add a bit of twist and activity to the tank, and then certain African catfish, like Synodontis (Upside down cats) are always interesting. :)

    Salmon this accidentally ended up in the African area...

    I will need to do some research on the African fish and the compatibility, with American cichlids?

    Most African fish make ideal community fish, provided that you do research and find the right ones. Rather avoid the African cichlids, especially if you have other cichlids in the tank already. The fish I've mentioned about are common community fish in many peoples' tanks, just give them a search on Google: Congo Tetra (Phenacogrammus interruptus), Upisde-down catfish (Synodontis nigriventris), or for something unusual, the African Butterflyfish (Pantodon buccholzi). All very hardy fish that are readily avaliable.

    @Lizid,

    I think we should help you to put water in the tank.

    How long have the tank been standing empty ?

    @Hein,

    I think we must give @Lizid some water to put in the tank.

    Isn't that what a tank is for ?

    haha

    I agree but the funny thing is I think @Lizid has an endless supply of water at his house controlled by a tap, usually it works like this, open tap, put hosepipe in tank, fill tank and close tap and take out hosepipe. lol:laugh:

    @Hein,

    We should maybe jump over the fence and fill up the tank for @Lizid.

    Then atleast it can start to cycle.

    haha

    I have had all of these at one time or another.

    Male Congos are lovely, but I find the females to be a bit drab.

    Upside Down Cats are also interesting. But I had a group of 5 that I never ever saw. Not even at feeding time. They spent all the time under some wood.

    Butterflies are nice oddballs. Though they could eat some of the smaller fish in your tank.
