I am happy with the fact that the tank is now in the fishroom and that I have added whatever was left from the substrate experiments to the tank... So this is a true mix of substrates. Need to see about lights and filtration still - the CO2 is ready.

Had to move D-tank in the process so that was an unexpected WC today.

Awesome tank Ferdie sure the mix substrate will do wonders for the plants.

So I added some pumps with filter floss to clean the water - seems like no matter how little ADA you add (and this was powder) you will always need to run a polisher to get rid of the cloud.

And after a few hours things are starting to clear, but a problem at high flow rate is evident.
    4ft-clear-07.jpg

but I that is OK I like the mix in colour.

    4ft-clear-06.jpg

Things are moving faster than expected - initially I will be using some opple T5 tubes that I have lying around for lights and probably a recycle a dynamix in tank filter for the main filter and leave one of the polishers to push the substrate around.

Might actually need to go scavange for plants next. Got some gloss and UG than needs a home .. this might just be it.

Lights - 1 4ft T5 and 1 3ft T5 - seem to have an overstock of 3ft units, can not remember why I bought them.
Planted some plants, added the filter box in the right back corner, busy water logging some previously used wood.

    4ft-clear-08.jpg

Added the CO2 ... hope the UG makes it been reading that this stuff should actually not be planted in a nutrient rich substrate.

    4ft-clear-09.jpg

Decides to add the CO2 right at the UG

Co2 will be running of the 6-way so it is also 24x7

Found a canister for the tank, it was between a tertratec 700 and an EHEIM professionel 3 250

    4ft-clear-17.jpg

I am just not sure about the spray bar - will probably be removing it sooner than expected - let see what it does to my co2 flow.

LOL - I have a slight OCD when it comes to things like TOTM ... if I commit to that now the rest of my life will go for a ball of spaghetti - so no, but thanks for the thought.

AS for growth ... I am happy to report the spotting of a Glosso runner.

    he he ..
I wish, been a lurking plant guy for years - pity I still can not claim that this was well planned, 90% are from other tanks - secret is to plant as much as you can in the beginning, so having donor tanks and plants help allot.

Resisted touching any plants in the tank for today, did add some guppies - these are second generation ADA guppies i.e. (since guppies typically do not survive with ADA in the beginning these are from an ADA tank - the adults and fry all started life in an ADA tank)

Not show guppies - but workers, they peck at stuff on the leaves move dead plant matter around etc.

    4ft-clear-18.jpg

Still in two minds about the ehiem's spray bar.
