i guys i want some advice i want to do a 430l planted tank as i can get an amazing deal on a tank with an ehim canister filter and all accessory's necessary for a marine tank (but i want to go the planted route) im not sure if planted tanks will work at this scale i want to do an iwagumi style tank with glass cat's white cloud minnows and tiger barbs

whats the pros and cons of doing a setup on this scale ?

The first q would have to be how deep is the tank?

Hi manicmonkey I personally dont think the minnows will be good with the Tiger barbs, they are to small and to docile. The glass cats will grow to big for the tank so a big no no for the glass catfish they really grow very quickly.

Why dont you rather just go with Tiger barbs and some zebra loaches and a pleco or 2.

Or maybe something else with the tiger barbs they must not be slow moving fishes.

Sure you have seen my 650 Liters of pure tiger barb tank.

    Go look at my thread.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

It will work if you have the correct lighting and co2. You probably want to go high tec if you want an iwagumi scape
