Here's my first attempt at building a stand/cabinet. I still need to seal it and add side panelsa bottom and doors. But that will come at a later stage. Really want to get the tank going asap. Fortunately the other elements to the cabinet can be done after the tank is set up.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Hi Aquaman

Just a quick question, will there be any support in the middle of the stand where the tank will sit ?

This looks good so far, make sure u seal that wood. I dont think u will need support in the middle. I have a 2m tank with no middle support. As long as your top is level and flat and joints sanded clean. Looking forwars to the complete setup

I based the design off this one. . No need for middle support on this size. Will definitely seal it before setting up the tank.

I added a layer of poly for extra leveling/even weight distribution to the stand and while I was at it I replaced the tank's poly. I installed a T8 LED light. Pardon the tank's condition... It was severely neglected but I got it for free. I have it a tiring clean with vinegar and a razor blade... Still not 100% but a lot better than when I got it. I'll do the panels/doors at a later stage.

Next will be to get some hardscape, substrate and plants. That's where the fun starts.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Looking very nice @Aquaman

First part was the hard work....
    Second the fun of scaping..
The worst part.... the frustrating few weeks of staring at a fishless cycling tank.....

But all worth it in the end

So true... Cycling is frustrating but very important... And worth it ultimately.

Actually the worst part for me was the 6 week wait for the tank to cure as it was newly built
Staring at that big empty tank for that long was torture!!
