Today I achieved one of my dreams. I got my Axolotl, who's name is Rufus.
Here are some photos taken over the last week while I prepped the tank.

He is currently acclimating. I will post the photo once he is in the water. I will also be adding an Anubias nana to the tank soon, I think.

I'm currently keeping it at about 21 degrees. I know that's usually on the warm side for axolotls, but the guy I got it from has been breeding them and keeping them for a while, and he doesnt have a chiller or even a fan. So I think his temps are 21+ degrees.
Im wondering if these axolotls have actually grown used to slightly warmer temps. I think I saw you mention the same question about the axies in UAE in another thread.
I'll probably try bring the temp down a bit over time (just got a fan and digital temperature controller) , but I don't want to shock him

Yes this is the thing. Here room temperature is 25 and that's with AC on all day and they seem to be doing well. A friend has a firebelly newt also and he uses a usb rechargeable fan to keep it all cool. But he said when he went on holiday he was concerned about the higher temps and he came back to 26degrees and the newt was more active and interactive so he's decided to leave it and it's worked for him so I am guessing that they do adapt well
