2 part question - size in schooling and regrowth of fins

    our 2 silver dollars are rather large - about 12 - 15cm . they're the last 2 from the original 5 we had. We would like to get them some more friends but the ones in the store are small - about 3 cm - that won't help right?

    secondly if a fish has its fins nipped badly - do they grow back (assuming no infections)

    @uni.... S.Dollars grow fast...so even if the new school of young 'uns dont hook up with the 2 "Motherships" - it wont take long for them to grow and make the connection.... Have done this in the past,but not to the extremes in size as you would have.... Little guys always settled in with the big guys almost instantaneously....

    This depends from species to species....and severity of bite.... - no fin will regrow it bitten into the "flesh" of the fish...sometimes very deep bites regrow,but not completely....

    cool thanks,i can't believe how expensive dollars are but i'll get them some friends this weekend.

    Shop around..... dolars thatsize should retail for between R20 to R30..... how much are the ones you ogling ? @uni....

    my LFS has them between R30 and R60 depending on the size.
