Added a betta male to my shrimp tank as a population control. He had another idea in his head. Now in his own tank.

    Some pics and notes.

    The snail population is...massive...hehehe

The female betta is still hunting around through the plants. She's eaten most of my more colourful shrimp, leaving the black caridina and ghost shrimp. The shrimp in turn are reproducing well and they're everywhere!

The cherry barbs are doing well, trying to eat everything, succeeding most of the time.

I've disconnected the CO2 system. The plants are growing well without it. Over all I'm just letting things grow wild.

I'll be neatening things up soon, when I decide how I want things arranged.

I almost feel like I need a whole peeled cucumber on a roasting stick, luckily I can just toss the whole treat into the pool, the koi go nuts for it

I have 3 species of mollusc in that tank, mostly it's just ramshorns and Malaysian trumpets so if anyone wants some, let me know.

I like snails so I'm not actually bothered by seeing them or by how many I have. A population's size is controlled by food availability. All these snails must be getting food or they wouldn't grow and reproduce.

The only downside is that if a fish dies it just, sorta...disappears...
The snails eat shrimp sheds etc too so I don't even see those.
