Yes, yes, I know, some people find it morbid that I celebrate the day of my accident, BUT the way I see it, it was the day that I LIVED!!!

Today is the 7th anniversary of that day (±15:30 - 24/04/2009).. 7 years I would not have had with my family and friends, but I did!!! So I invite you all to celebrate today with me!!! Celebrate life and all it holds, celebrate your loved ones and the time you have with them, coz you never know what lies in the next hour, or minute, or second..

Indeed ... Do what one can today for tomorrow you may just not be able.

Glad you sticking around for the roller coaster of life, cause in the end when we die the saddest thing is the memories and experiences that would die with us.

Death is only morbid and scary to those that feel they have not lived the life they have today.

Well, you certainly don't seem have let a little thing like paralysis get in the way of living. thanks for reminding us to appreciate and savour every single success and to find beauty whenever and wherever we can. That's living..

Im a bit late, but yes, we must live life to the fullest, and yes, i also have a disability, visually impared. Classed as blind, but it never stopped me from breeding and keeping fish.

I just need help when catching my fish, and you always see nose marks on my tanks from me trying to see my fish... lol

Anyway, also just popped in quick, wasnt on for a few days, data was finished, and replaced my phone with a tablet, couldnt manage with the small screen anymore.

But yes my friend, screw all the down sides in life, lets party like rock stars lol

@RKali and @Fishlips….. Wish you all the best…. Life isshort and very precious and we must make the best of life inn any and whateverway we can. People like yourselves are a great inspiration to all of us.
@RKali, I don’t mean to hijack your thread but I would liketo share a story with you that has touched me deeply
We live on a small holding and few years ago we formed aCommunity watch which I have run for a few years and we run patrols during thenight.
One day a young guy … late twenties.. moved into a cottagein our community and.. he was completely blind however, he was a computerprogrammer.
Carl had a spirit and determination like its hard to comeacross, he was determined there was not much that he couldn’t do… on hearingabout the community watch he wanted to join the patrols…
I was petrified of allowing this… I was terrified thatsomething happened out there and I would never forgive myself but.. Carl wouldnot take no for an answer.. and eventually I had no choice but to give in. Iteamed him up with a more senior patroller and went Carl…
I worried myself sick when he was out……Well…. Carl couldsmell and hear what no one else could and alerted me many times of veld firescoming our way long before anyone else had smelt or seen them come. He heardthings during the night that no one else did and saved us from trouble a fewtimes
Carl’s passion was horses and cross country and he would notgive up on this…. So.. he heard of a horse being sold for poor temperament andhe wanted to see it so we took him…
Something happened between the two and Carl bought the horsemuch to the horror of the horse riding school and many of the ‘horse people’ inthe area…. About 6 months down the line, Carl went everywhere in our area withBilly including into the vacant veld and up the koppies…. We were all horrifiedand worried. I had given Carl a two way radio so we made a deal that he wouldcarry it with him. Thank God, it was never needed…. Billy, ‘the horrible horse’and Carl were like one and Billy always took great care of him. Eventually Carldecided he was joining the cross country club and competing with Billy…
Needless to say we were worried sick… Well…. Carl and Billymade it through many races through the most horrendous terrain and won a fewtimes….
About 2 years ago Carl moved to stay with family on a farm Ithink out Magaliesburg way…
Carl was an inspiration to the whole community, joined everyevent and tried to do everything everyone else did.. I had Carl doing sackraces and egg and spoon races at some of our events…
I miss him very much and he taught our Community howprecious life is….

I will upload a pic when i install taptalk on this tablet later on.

@MariaS thank you for the nice motivational story.

Only downside of being in a blind school was going home time when all the kids ran in the passages to get home.

There was a few k.o situasions and head on collutions before lol.

Few very funny stories too, wyich one was almost getting expelled...

But yes, its what you make of it...
