    Hi all

Found a very interesting site on these guys and there seem to be a lack of info on them elsewhere.

It is on another forum so I can not post the link unless the Mods can give permission to do so for this one? Purely a informative page with awesome pictures.

This could also be a big help for the guys with algae problems as they seem to only eat algae!

Maybe Dolphin can get us some.

Pm me for the link. I challange you not to want one after looking through it.

Its a great shop, newly setup. Had a long chat with the manager of the fish section, who's down from joberg. Its perky pet & vet in Diep River. 186 Main road, just by the kendal road intersection. The guy managing it is David Webster, and he seems to run a very good setup. Min two weeks no sale quarantine on livestock, arranges tank tags by colour as an aggressive/passive compatibility guide, seems like a nice guy. number is 0217128283 Highly recommended from what i've seen, not much stock in yet tho

PS: i dont think the knight gobies eat algae?

@vis something like this, yellow highlight instead of blue tho i think...

Ruan! Remember to ask if his knight gobies were bred in freshwater or brackish!! If they were bred in fwater then they are fine to keep, read some people have problems with these fish as they are originally brackish species...

There are actually quite a few freshwater gobies, you just have to know what you're looking for. It also comes down to what you would call a goby - there are gobies that are found in freshwater, but then there are also Eleotrids (sleeper gobies) which could also loosely be called gobies. Empire gudgeons/gobies come from this group and make excellent additions to some setups.

Knight gobies can be kept in freshwater, but fare best in hard alkaline fresh water or low end brackish water. They're really great fish to keep, being different from 'typical' gobies and living in the middle of the tank as opposed to the bottom.

Hi also saw some knight gobys today, sold as thai goby, really good looking. Will do some research before buying one. Not sure how big they get. They sold for R43. How much are the ones in Cape town?

The ones I saw were going for R29.95 each, and were a pretty good size too, about 4cm if i recall... I did some research when I first saw them, and they get to about 7/8cm.

That LFS was always a bit expensive. Was looking for something little bit smaller.
