LOL - it is not that bad ...

    I am actually impressed

I see even a few guppies (right bottom corner) made it from the donor plants tank ...

Sunlight is causing havoc with a front shot.. so this is from the back - all of the plants are along the back at this stage.
    22s cousin - 07.jpg

And with no heater, not filtration or pump and less sunlight this than what I thought the tank would get - I still see signs of HM pushing new growth.

I am contemplating putting some moss on those branches - just not sure how well it will do .. hmmmm.

Thanks, yeah I was rather stunned when I saw it - been a bit MIA last week and looking at tanks in the dark is just not the same.

This is the top view - front would be at the bottom. Still want to get some long growth in the back, then I need to see about the front.

Not that bad - once the water starts to heat up a quick clean and this will be gold ... but at the moment I can only put my hinds in it for a few minutes.

I think that if you added a filter and some lights, this tank would be amazing.

Agree on both points ... Lights is / will be the sun. Filter .. might just be the same. For now I am happy with the growth algae and all.

I think that all this tank needs is time... It will settle and be more stable after 6 months

True - I am contemplating jumping the gun at some point - want to start adding the moss, but the water is to cold to play in for now.

I am a bit surprised at the runners in this cold weather - not complaining about the growth - just thought it would go into total hibernation. Past tanks that had flow and was standing in the same spot had zero growth during winter. I suspect the water volume on this has something to do with the growth.

Should probably take a blade and remove most of the algae on the glass ..

I moved some of the 4ft clear plants in here .. started removing some algae - water temp is 7 ... that is cold for my hands never mind the plants .. not sure they will survive.

This could be such an amazing scape if you just added a heater and filter!

Lol ... yeah but that would be less interesting. This natural growing thing is starting to take shape, actually considering doing something similar to a 1.2x.5x.5 I have waiting for attention.

Ok so the idea is that this would be my APSA comp tank ... maybe.

Decided to do a moss and yogurt mix - never tried this before - keen to see if it works, if not this is a big peace of spider wood to wash down.

    catch22cousin02.jpg

The fix is of several types of moss - not need to get all picky and only do one type of moss - I want green mass in the end.

    catch22cousin03.jpg

Used fingers and a sponge to dab it onto the moist wood.

    catch22cousin04.jpg

The bubble wrap should help keep the moisture level up.

Will leave this for a few weeks and see how it does.
