Hey. This is my planted 30L tank.

The plants in it at this stage are (From left to right):
    • Java fern
    • Ambulia
    • Anubias
    • Vallis (and lots of it)
    • Bacopa weed (don' ask)
    • Java moss
    • Water grass ( I think - i've been told its monkey grass)(Help please...)
So here is a photo of the tank....

I only started dosing excel yesterday after this Photo were taken. So it would be interesting to see what excel will do to this tank in about 2 weeks...

    Hi @BugMan

Looking very good. should fill out nicely. Just a word of caution sometimes (most cases) Excell melts Vallis.

And yes that is hornwort, not my favourite plant because when ever I had some it shed leaves like crazy. But its a nice floating plant as well.

    nice tank!

maybe dont put the oulet of the filter against the back of the tank as it wont help with circulation, just remember plants are different to fish as they cant chase there food so you need good circulation for them to eat:blink1:

Nice set up. Nicely scaped. Not sure if that pot is working for me... I like the rocks more as a more natural hardscape.

Maybe the moss growing over it will "fit it in" a bit more.

    Very nice.
I am also not a big fan of the pot. Maybe a small piece of wood rather?

@Zoom and @Reedfish: I know the pot doesn't really fit but i'm really struggling to find a nice piece of driftwood... I have a small piece in another tank but it is just to big to replace the pot... so i will need to go and search for a better piece to replace the pot with...

On the other hand @Zoom i think it will look a lot better once the moss have overgrown the whole pot... But i will search for a piece of drift wood and cover that with some moss... I think it will look better than the pot...

Are you going to put some dwarf Cichlids in there? Apistos?
I suppose they could use the pot to breed in.

It will look better with some well grown moss on it.

@Reedfish... I'm planning on something a bit more difficult to breed... Pigmy puffers... Because i have 3 females and 2 males... :-D And breeding with 2 of them in there would be perfect if my calculations are correct...

Looks like it's going to be a nice tank when it fills out a bit. Good luck with the breeding :)

I had a case of BBA in my display tank starting on some of the equipment. I changed from Excel to Microbelift Bio-Carbon in the Nano, so I had half a bottle of Excel left over which I used in my main display (as per dosage instruction)... and sadly all my twisty Vallis melted away. (BBA disappeared tho!)

So... I have been gone for a few days and when i got back and saw my tank i was shocked... The plant growth within the few days that i were gone is INSANE!!! The vallis more than doubled in leaf length, the ambulia trippled in length, the hornwort that i replanted just before going away so that it is only 1cm long stems protruding from the gravel is now about 10-12m in hieght and i have 4 new Java fern plantlets...

I will post a few photos later in the day...

So i never got around posting those pics i promised... But i will post a timeline in this week of the past month... it is SHOCKING!!! The first thing that i need to do is to trim all the Ambulia down to level again (That is after i take some fotos...) since it is blocking ALL the light out and it is as good as not having light for the plants in the bottom of the tank... 0.0

A photo of when it started (30-11-2011):

A bit more than a month later (06-01-2012):
    30L Tank 06-01-2012 After Excel.jpg

And here is a photo of what it looks like after i have been gone for 2 weeks (22-01-2012):

    So what do you think???

Green spot is not a problem. Many people running High Tech systems actually use it's presence to indicate their fertilizing regine shortage etc.

Just wipe it with a blade.
