    @azurekoi

    Soccer (football) is for men with enough brains NOT to play rugby.
    What is it they say, "Football, played by Gentleman, watched by hooligans"

    @Reedfish

    3rd! Unreal! Lets hope we can keep it up!

    He,he @Marco.... Ex profesional rugby player me..

    So,according to your analogy,Rugby would be a game for hooligans,watched by bigger hooligans? dont get me wrong, i do watch the odd football game and actually enjoy it,but the drama/theatrics of "diving" in the modern game,puts me off... In rugby,a 120kg prop smash tackles a scrumhalf - little dude gets right back up and goes for it.... In football....a striker gets touched by a defenders little toe and he rolls around on the ground as if he is in labour....

    BTW.... i used to be a Everton supporter years back...before the diving just got to much for me...

    I follow rugby too - Saracens is my local team.

    But football is so much bigger here.

    Rugby nr.13 here. Men play rugby because they love it. Dudes play soccer because they love it. I guess it's also the type of person you are that will decide if you like soccer or rugby. An Afrikaans ou who likes soccer is just strange. It two totally different sports. Lets not argue which one is better, even if I hate soccer.

    Ex prop here... Soccer is for the school diving team... Blegh.

    I can only agree with azure on this issue. Super rugby trumps footy any day of the week.

    Thanks.

    Tennis first, then cricket, then any major sporting event like olympics, world cup, etc.

    Won't go out of my way to watch a rugby or soccer game, but if I were to watch soccer the teams I support is Barcelona and Bayern Munich.....

    Here is the funny part. . .

    I am as afrikaans as they come! I havent watched a single rugby game in more than 5years, bores me to death. However, I can easily spend a whole day lounging in front of the tele watching soccer. Only British premier league though, I dont watch this "parkie sokker" they play in SA. I can watch Everton play Sunderland and enjoy it! Sad I suppose to most boertjies out there.

    I played soccer from an early age with my Dutch buddy's for the Dutch club "Hollandia", sort of stuck I guess, and now I irritate those around me by scheduling my life for "The monday night game, the Tuesday night game, the Saturday Game, highlights etc. . ."

    Its soooooo much fun!!!!!

    my boyfriend is a Gunners supporter and i occasionally watch a game. i enjoy watching the theatrics i dont understand much else besides making the occasional comment about it being a good play or a tackle my guy just kinda makes a noise like he's agreeing and i go back to my book. i've even gone with him to the pub to watch and have sat quietly reading while the hooligans do their thing around me lol

    @Marco i've got a friend who calls herself a football hermit for just that reason, she hardly ever goes out in football season lol

    @windfire

    Hehe, most people dont understand that about football people, its insane really, but we do it yes.

    @firemanmuzz

    I think we all agree that Wenger should just get two or three players, yet with the new "financial fair play" rules coming into play soon, he is already a step ahead of most coaches.
    And wasnt it fun watching a £30million team (Swansea) beat a £500million team ( Man city) two weeks ago. Thats what i love about soccer

    I for one openly support Man. United for the title this season. Its vital that Man city win nothing, so clubs can learn money doesnt buy succesd and stature. Too many clubs in the UK are on the verge of bankruptcy, this needs to be stopped for the sake of the game
