View Full Version : Well Water vs Borehole vs Tap Water for pond
Hi have not been online fore a while but have been reading about how clean well and borehole is and people have been saying the the metals in the water dont really matter and that it is better then tap water. Also the deeper the better. I whould like to know wich whould be better to use if I was using the water to quarantine goldfish before I sell then( have both well and Borehole)
First question is, where are you located?
Second question, are you sure there has been no contamination of your borehole/well?
Third, what are the water parameters of your borehole and well water? You need to test them. PH, KH, GH, Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite, etc... A thorough test will tell you whether the water is useable or not.

Just a note on using borehole water.... when it comes out of the earth,it is highly de oxygenated and usualy has an extremely low pH value(Have tested as low as 3.7 at times ) - first let it settle down and re oxygenate n a holding tank to get it to reflect it's true pH value once all the CO2 has gassed off
I personally dont like using wellpoint water - too shallow - years and years of junk we put in/on our gardens to kill weeds/fertilize seeps in to this layer - borehole would be better choice, but do have it analised first before using...
Thank for your knowledge will get it tested sometime
