Hi there. This thread is where I will be discussing each fish's behavior and possible symptoms of diseases, and also when I introduce new fish to the tank. Please don't hit me over the head or insult me about something stupid. If Something is not constructive then take it to PM.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1st Check:
Background: I put the Pleco, flying fox and khuli loach back in the big tank today together with my new fish.
The new fish I bought is: 2 Angels, 2 Red Robin Gourami's, 1 Otto, 3 Bronze Cory's and 8 Pristella Terta's.
I also added a real Amazon sword pant to replace that non-aquatic bullshhhh.
Water Readings:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 5
pH: 6.4 (I added some Seachem neutral regulator)
Hardness: Not sure, dude at LFS said it's good.
Chlorine: 0
Temperature: 27^C
Notes: I dosed some Flourish Excel for the first time. I hope it will work. The temporary tank where the 2 Sliver Dollars were in cracked so they were moved to a smaller tank in emergency. They are doing better than when the dilemma struck but are still a but stressed. At least they will have a better home on Monday.
Analysis of the fish:
Pleco: Doing great - it already found it's hiding place and takes frequent swims around the tank and eats some algae while it's at it.
Angels: They are doing much better than when they were put into the tank. They come to my for food, they cruise around the tank and is not aggressive at all. It looks like they are eating my Java Moss! :(
Flying fox: When put back into the tank it was as pale as an albino but it's 100% now. Very active and eating stuff from the ground and rocks the whole time. The black stripe on it is darker and it has a kind of metallic green sheen on it if you look closely - is this a sign that it's very happy?
Red Robin Gourami's: They were doing good from the start. Swims around a lot and peck at some rocks and on the ground for food, but also hides now and then.
Pristella's and the other small fish: Just swimming around - none of them look abnormal.
Otto: I don't see him a lot but when I do it's on the glass or on plants, usually eating off algae.
Bronze Cory's: Very active most of the time but from time to time they will just sit on the ground, dead still like statues.
Khuli Loach: Needless to say, I've only seen him once since I put him in the tanks but he's OK.
Notes: There are growing some algae on the ground and it's disappointing to me that the Otto (which were to most expensive) doesn't really eat a lot. As I aslo said earlier, mt Angels started picking at my Java Moss and Windelov Java Fern. Not Cool. Is it a sign that they are hungry? I don't want to overfeed.
