Try a golf course that is nearby. They usually have them in the water pits/dams.

Have you tried a garden center?
Or a pond specialist might have them.
But then you expect to pay for it. Just ask the maintenance guy nicely at the course and he might just let you take some.

I found some at the pet Section at Belleville Stodels. (Not sure if it's the same species). Maybe a Stodels near you might also have. It cost me R20 a leaf. pshhh

Now isnt the right time for waterblommetjies - at the beginning of winter go look at the bulb section of your local nursery - they are there with the other Hadeco bulbs

If i may ask whats your plans with the waterblommetjies? I had these ideas of making stews etc till i realized that its the smallllllllll wild ones and you would need LOTS of them to make any meaningful meal :D

Hi Guys
Aponogeton distachyos - Waterblommetjies are stunning pond plants but they grow in the winter months. Winter = rain in the Cape ....... supposedly.
They have interesting flowers with twin spikes of white flowers floating on the surface. They set seed easily and the seed germinates almost immediately.
I have seen them for sale in nurseries and Kilnerpark Kwekery definitely has some small ones.
Keep Well
