Pleco's, help please

We got a second hand tank last night,,, with two pleco's and one catfish. Trying to figure out from which species currently, but please help. Need to clean the tank for sure, which substrate would be best suited? And which plants (please Solex) would be pleco resistant?? Never seen so much algae in a tank in my life. Took the tank thinking to save the fish!!!! :-) And they survived at 12 degree's, btw. Astonishing!

You would need a sand like river sand or pool filter sand. Most plants are pleco resistant as you put it - the only issue i have ever had with pleco eating plants happend with BN's eating sword leaves when i didnt feed them what they needed
