View Full Version : My Plecs sucks harder than yours
Thought I'd share, something you don't see very often.
My Peckoltias Love coconut shells
Pictures below of the coconut shells eaten straight through
wow okay, thats one "suck"cessful pleco lol!
Khalid, I don't want to disagree totally with you, but it looks like the shell is getting thinner due to deterioration/old age.
Yes, the plecs could have an effect, but if they were really sucking that hard, do you think that the thin pieces (like lace)
would still be intact?
LOL holey moley
Very sharp Vez :)

Unlike the Royal plecs, it's not a main course it's a dessert. This is not the only shell in the tank, the damage gets distributed over all the wood.
This is the only tank that this happens. With the ancistrus the coconut shells have lasted years and still going strong, with no holes.
Lastly the proof is in the poo ..... sawdust poop similar to a Royal pleco
Used to have a Peckoltia vitata breeding group in a planted 8 footer when I lived in CT... Found the same - they completely ate through some Mopani wood pieces I had in the tank... took them years though...
makes sense, as mopani is very hard
