Angel fish
So my mom decide she want angels. I have read that they will eat small fish. So I want to know what tank conditions they want. I know they want acidic water. But wat food do they want? We have a 60 cm tank. Could we put a couple of angels in there? Is there anything specific they want? Do they fight with each other? I want them to be happy.
Please help. I don`t want to buy them and then they die.

A 60cm tank will be too small for angels. They like to be in a groups of 6 or more, and ideally you want a 4ft tank for them.

Angels often do harress smaller fish and if these fish are small enough they will eat them, especially if they are introduced at a later stage. Pairs also become very aggressive when spawning.

Since Angels have long dorsal and anal fins they must be kept in a deep enough tank where they can swim with ease without their fins rubbing on the substrate or decorations. They love a planted tank. They are omnivirous and will eat granular, pelleted and flake food as well as live and frozen foods. Feed them a mixture of these to help keep them healthy.

There are people who do keep one pair in a 60cm tank, but personally I feel if you really want to keep them happy a bigger, deeper tank like 1.2m will be better.

Hi Rooivlerkie,
It's best to get 4 and let them pair off if you really want to keep angels, take the remaining 2 back to the shop for frozen bloodworm (their favorite food)
Keeping more than 1 pair in a tank is not a good idea as they will fight with each other after maturing.(pecking order the same as with discus)
They are prolific breeders and you will be looking for a second or third tank in no time. (see the photos on my profile page - 3 foot tanks with hundreds in each)
Smaller tanks (in my and your case) and overcrowding requires more frequent water changes but it can be done.
Look after your water quality and their will be no reason why you cannot keep any fish you desire.

Yup, unfortunately 60L will be a bit small for an Angel.

They can get to 20cm plus. But there are some varieties that don't get as big. My Smokey Leopard is a lot smaller, as is my Platinum

Its not about depth only. Its about volume of water and swimming space. You need 90 litres of water per angel. One angel on his own will also be lonely and possibly unhappy

My Smokey Leopard

My Smokey Leopard got 18cm high so its really difficult to say

I have a 90 x 37 (deep) tank with guppies. kuhlis, danios and swords.
I want to get rid of the guppies, danios and swords.
Can I put 6 angles in that tank? Would thet be OK with the kuhlis?
Should I put a piece of bogwood in the tank?

Hi Rooivlerkie IMO 37 is not deep enough for Angels. You need atleast 50 deep for them.
