Nymphea Rubra - A red lily for the people with a larger tank that need a stunning centrepiece or focal point. If you let it flower - it flowers at night and perfumes the whole room.

Structure = Bulb
Height = 10-60cm
Width = 10-50cm
Light = Med to High
Temp = 22-28
pH = 6 - 7.5
Difficulty = Easy
Growth = Fast

A lovely undemanding plant, that will grow in Medium to High light and does not need much in the way of ferts (but as with all plants it does better with ferts).

Just remember to leave the top of the bulb exposed when planting.

If you want submersed leaves then make sure you cut any off that reach the surface , otherwise pretty quickly all you have is surface leaves.

Available NOW @ R22-00 per bulb (Bulbs have begun rooting )

I have heard or read somewhere that plants that have red leaves need CO2? True or false?

False - normally aquatic plants that have red leaves need good light. In low light the leaves remain green - with good light the leaves will go red.

CO2 is used to promote growth, not colour.

The Nymphea Bulbs have been re-potted and all have nice leaf growth on them...
