breeding hypancistrus

Hi guysAnyone on the forum have any luck breeding hypancistrus?I have some hyp contradens which I plan on breeding..wanted to know if anyone in south africa is breeding them.I also have a trio of nice ancistrus I want to breed..they are not the usual guys seen in pet shops..have fine rust color dots all over..thinking of adding them to outdoor setup during summer..anyone breeding ancisrus in ponds?want to know how it went..will post pics of fish later

I have some success stories to help you move ahead with your Hypancistrus

L333, L66, andL46
have ALL been bred in various individual and collaborative effort in SA

Contact @Cheetah (http://www.tropicalaquarium.co.za/member.php?u=516), he got some Ancistrus cf. cirrhosis from me some time back, and he now has his spawning outside...
granted he is in a much warmer clime
Since, you have had Rift Lake cichlids spawn outside, similar temperatures will do( maybe +2C?)

I have also spawned them outside, but that was under cover, and with a heater plumbed in for cold snaps.
A large local producer does so under Greenhouse conditions
