Those are lovely fish you really like your dwarf cichlids
That Bucketmouth has "punk" written all over it.
Hehehe... His nickname is JR... Johnny Rotten.
And it looks like these are A. steindachneri

Beautiful fish! I too LOVE dwarfs, wish I had as many different varieties as you do tho :)
Well, if these breed, you might just have that opportunity...
I'll take you up on that offer. :D
I currently have Agassizi's Double Reds, Trifaciatus and Red Cacatuoides.
It looks like the Agassizi's may finally have gotten it right after plenty of eating of eggs - crossing my fingers that I'll soon see little ones coming out of the caves :)
I'll keep you guys updated on the breeding of my apistos. The A. trifasciata are going slowly. They not showing too much breeding behaviour yet. We'll see about the Hongsloi. The females always seem to kill the males.
Steindacs starting to color up nicely!
Let me know how the Hongsloi do, would be really good if they breed!
Are Dwarf cichlids good community tank mates? Or do they prefer different perameters?
Depends what your parameters are... If you have a south american soft water tank, then yes, they are pretty good tank mates.
Some of the new arrivals!!! Very exciting shipment from Quality Aquariums.

I have a female, but the pics were blurry.
This one is a male A. cacatuoides that I bred. He is the first adult cacatuoides I ever raised.

With QA's shipment I also got A. agassizi (tefe blue), A. sp Inka 50 ( I got 2 pairs of these). There are some beautiful strains available out there. I wish I had a bigger room with more tanks.
Awsome fish! I would def like to get some dwarfs one day :)
I'm just waiting for the inkas and the blue Agassizi to colour up and I'll take some snaps!!!
Can't wait to see the inkas! I'd love some of them! And for that matter the trifasciatas, and agassizi double reds, and the bitaeniata, and the nijsseni! I currently just have one pair of the caca sunbursts! Beautiful fish! Cheers! Big G!

He is a beaut!!
Seriously Slagter! They are stunning! Wish I had em!
I never seen Macmesteri like that before?? I've only ever seen ones that were Silver and Red! Didn't like them, but those have made me reconsider!
And the Inkas??
Cheers
Big G!
Slagter... what size tank do you have these in? Or are each pair in their own tank? Would love to see that set up!
The Inkas are taking some strain. I lost 1 pair and the second pair are busy recovering. The male looks good, but the female is still on the edge... I'll take some pics once she has fattened up and is healthy again!

Each pair is in their own tank. I have the Pandurini, Macmasteri and Cacatuoides pairs in 3ft tanks. Inkas, Agassizi, Trifasciatas, Cacatuoides and Agassizi Reds in 2ft tanks.
Then I have my 3 quarantine tanks which are 160L 3fts. I have my 6 Steindachneri in one and in another I have pairs of sunburst Cacatuoides and Vejieta (or sp Steel Blue). I am about to remove the substrate from the 3rd one to make it a bare bottom tank.

That makes TOO MANY TANKS for me! I just did a 70% water change on my tank, which is only a 4ft 300litre, and it was enough for me. Granted I did a rescape.
Now busy dosing for Anchor worm...
LOL!! I sometimes think it is too many tanks for me too...
I currently have 20 tanks with water and with fish. I have a few other tanks which are empty. But I love Dwarf Cichlids too much!! They are magnificent little fish!
Awesome fish slagter.
One day when I'm big, I also want to have such stunning fish .... LOL
