About a 3 years ago I bought a fishtank with several diffirent species of livebearers. They were very easy to breed and soon I had too many of them. I decided to sell them as they were no challenge to breed. I also sold my fishtank as I could not find any other type of fish in my area for sale.

I have recently started to study the Pelvicachromis Pulcher and would like more information on their breeding habits. Any info will be apreciated.

Regards
Frederik

Kribensis!! I love Kribs! They are super easy to breed! Stick them in a tank, give them a cave and feed them well! Lots of Bloodworms, lots of brine shrimp and some good quality flakes or pellets and you will soon have them breeding like rabbits! They spawn in caves. The female will lay her eggs in the cave and the male will guard the cave. The female will chase the male away from the cave. Until a few days later she will emerge from the cave with fry!

Feed the babies really fine powdered foods, chopped bloodworms, and baby brine shrimp...

Thanks for info. Also do you know if Kribs can live in peace with other fish?

Depends on which other fish. When Kribs have eggs and babies they can bully other fish, so you need other fish that can hold their own. Also, other fish might eat the Krib fry.

Have a look in the African cichlid sub-forum for other people's experience with Kribs (including mine). They are beautiful fish, easy to breed and fascinating to watch. They are excellent parents. Choose their tank mates carefully, though. They like to have someone to bully otherwise they get bored and start to bully each other.

Thank you for the help. I will be sure to keep that in mind when I buy some more fish.
