Alternanthera reineckii are a true aquatic plant if I'm not mistaken? But I'm not sure if this is the specific plant so I'm hoping someone else can be of help?

Think this looks more like Alternanthera ficoidea than reineckii .. tracyp seems to be on the money - non-aquatic.

Bad luck?? The last 3 plants that I bought were non aquatic! And my father brought me some plants from KZN from a LFS and more than half of them were not aquatic. These LFS are really getting on my nerves. Think f-fish has an idea to buy the 101 best aquarium plants book and do some studying before I buy more plants.

Lizid thanks for the offer, will let you know when I'm going that way again then we can maybe arrange something! Think you guys are my only hope left for true aquatic plants.

But thanks for the help so far!

Yster we all went thru that, I actually gave my mum the mondo grass that I was sold and its growing lovely in her garden :P It took me about 6months in the end I went thru all the plants online, saved images, found details on care and with that list I started going to ALL the LFS in my area and some not and finally found all the plants on my lists and even asking on here for a clipping or grabbing some when people clean up their tanks. And I ended up leaving my lists at a few of my fav LFS and they have started slooooooowly getting more and more of those plants in and selling them like hot cakes!
