hi all
so i am ready to load the 5ft (475l) with lots of different tetras.
water has been cycling for about a month and a half.
Any suggestions and what can and cannot be kept together?
Your input will be much appreciated.

For a start...locate a nice big school of Bleeding Hearts.... The true one(H.erythrostigma, not H.soscollofii) - it will grow to a good 3 inches and ocupy the lower to mid swimming level and be a good focal fish....say 15 to 20 if your budget allows.... Cant get these? Bollivian/Collumbian Tetras also get nice and big, with the colour coming into their own as they mature... Highly underrated fishie...
Penguin tetras shoal REAL nice in mid to top layer.... Mix with a few Pencilfish(Your Choice of species) - or break the bank again and get a school of Hemiodus for the top levels...love their gracefull movements... some Hatchets cruising the surface could be cool too..
Mix in small shoals of Lemon tetras,Black Phantoms or Emperor tetras as well...
remember that most Tetras like to nibble on a plant or two...so if you planning a well planted tank, dont be too discouraged by the odd bit of munching - once the plants get settled and GROW,the nibbling wont be so noticeable...
So refreshing to see someone taking a big tank and not just cramming it full of big tankbusting fish - hats off dude!

Wow nice looking tank is that driftwood and moss?
Lekker setup Spock Rider.
I would never keep a community of tetras again without a good school of Rummy noses.
Would also ad Cardinals;Silver tip tetras(these look awesome once settled) and some Serpea tetras.

Hey Cobus,
Just watch the Serpia unless you have a group of 5-10. I have 3 tetra schools in a 1000L (10 x Serpia, 10 x Black Phantoms and 20 x Purple Emporer tetras - Inpaichthys kerri) - the latter school beautifully (and are pretty cheap), but I must admit that they only started schooling once I added the bigger fish.
Also, look at getting a flock of Corys for the bottom - mine school and look amazing in a big tank like that.
Please don't forget the stunning Pristella Tetra's. I've had my school for 2 years now and they really are stunners!Love that set up by the way!

pebbles are to big for corys, barbs will be caught, would love some though!
Tetras or any small fish dont mess so much as do bigger fish.
Great looking tank Cobus!
Hey dude
After seeing that tank yesterday, I personally think a lekker large group of Cardinals (20+) and a smaller Group of Rummynoses! As for the Silver Tips, they are cool fish, but like to munch on small leafed plants, and moss ( and this I can say out of personal experience, hence the reason why I don’t have any left). And as you mentioned, add some BN’s to the tank, or even a few Borneo Suckers? They are also very cool little fishies (next on my list)
Or a tank full of Ender Guppies..... Imagine that??
That can also work!
Even some Neon rainbowfish, i love them! and they will look good in that tank, with all the moss and other plants!

Hi all
So here is what is happening...............I added 50 Neons(cause they are mos pretty), 20 rummynoses, 5 emperors(only 5 left, will get more def) 10 massive black neons, a yoyo loach and a zebra loach Its a busy tank now, but in my opinion, more is needed.
More is deffinitly needed, but I think would should get something a little bigger now... Giant tank tiny fish lol
spock rider i would like to see a photo of the tank now... i got this idea that it is looking really awesome...
