hi Are male pearl gourami territorial ,he normally hangs around one of the plants the plant is quite big he is always inside the plant.when ever my neons or guppies come near the plant he chases them around the tank ,ive had two male guppies that tails were nipped that they couldnt swim and had to get rid of them are they wrong tank mates or does the gourami wanna start breeding ? And i think they ate my fry guppies cos saw them chasing my new born guppies now they gone

I had a trio (1m 2f) of Pearls. I got them because I read in a few sources that they were supposed to be one of the more peacefull Gouramis.
Not these. The male was constantly chasing my Angels. So I got rid of them.
Yup... they are territorial... esp near breeding time
my pearl gouramis are fairly peaceful, my male thick-lipped gourami chases the female around though but none of them bother the other fish
true, i also had one, that always chilled in the one corner, and that was HIS corner, any other fish that even tried to take a swim near his corner....eish got a nice nip!
