Ok thank you for pointing out we aren't in Texas or Kansas.

A girl can dream cant she ... Now ... let me rephrase.

Does any one know of a place in Cape Town where I could find rocks looking similar Texas holy rock? (or at least rocks that would be good in a Malawi Tank)

A simple No would do and if a Yes please let me know some details.

These are imported and cut from natural "holy rock" or limestone.
I asked the salesguy for broken tiles.Got 4 and took about 10 more
Cost me about R50.00

Just find a tile supplier that sells natural tiles (Cut from natural rock) and make sure that iit is not "prepped".

Holey rock is expensice in Oz about $12.50 a kilo in some places
thats 81 rand a kilo.
Yes its imported so thats why it cost so much.

In my malawi tanks I use limestone i get from the beach and garden, im sure cape town has some beaches with limestone?
if you do manage to get some limestone from the beach just make sure you wash it in vinegar and salt and then soak it in de-chlorinated water for 3-4 days

Only thing I've seen collected from the beaches in CT is beer bottles...:amazed:
Really our beaches have become shocking...

I was under the impression :

Like you gt a fishing permit, you could get a permit that allows shell collection from the beach?

Henk Hugo
31-07-2009, 15:44
from what i understand you would actually need a mining permit as it is rock and not shells
