Hello Everyone,

Was wondering if anyone had some advice\experience on the following,

I have a second hand tank 6foot with 10mm glass.

It has a small chip on the inside of the glass (the previous owner had alot of rocks in)

The chip is about 0.5cm wide & 2mm deep.

So far from I have been given the following options,

1. Super glue the area

2. Silicone a piece of glass over the area

3. Just leave it

Any advice will be welcome!

Thanks,

Willem

Hi Willem,

The chip is on the back glass, it is approx, 15\20cm from the bottom & 20\30cm from the left side(looking from front)

Thanks,

I would laeve it but better I think is to take a 100x100mm glass +- 6mm and stick it with silicone just remember to have no bubbles inbetween then you wont even see it.

Personally I'll stay away from using super glue on glass - my wife got tired waiting for me to fix a loose rearview mirror in one of our cars and ended up "fixing" it with Super glue - the result was a cracked windscreen...I think the superglue had some sort off chemical fusing effect and the glass couldn't take it.

Thanks for the heads up viskop

I have seen a few epoxy mixes that are made for glass maybe might be okay...

Go to PG autoglass. They do chip repair. Not hugely expensive either.
