I have done some reading up on Oscars and have found an article that explains it down to the tee.

Very nice!

Now I just wish someone would write something credible about Lutino vs Albino Oscars.

As I understand it there is no such thing as a true Albino Oscar, they are all leucistic (lacking or mostly lacking chromatophores. Not a true albino).

I'm pretty sure that I've seen true albino Oscars, they've got the red eyes and everything. Although what you're saying is makes sense though - a lot of the 'albino' Oscars that get through to the pet stores aren't real albinos.

I was also under the impression that the pink eye is what gives the game away, but apparently that is not the case.

Also a true Albino should have half the lifespan, which clearly isn't happening as I have seen "albinos" that are 15 years old.
