My Jags spawned on Saturday:bigsmile:, completely unplanned. The female laid so many eggs i couldn't count them all prob like 500 or so, some of them turned white by Sunday morning which i figure means they didn't get fertilized and this morning more had turned white but still about 400 tan eggs. Strangely its the male giving them all the attention, everything I've read says that the female looks after them the most. He hovers above them fanning them all day as well as chasing away any other fish that comes anywhere close including the female. Will be cool to have a whole bunch of fry if they survive, this is their first spawn so I would not be surprised if they don't make it. Will take some photos when i get home from work today.

here are some pics, they a bit blue as i have added methyelin (think thats how its spelled) blue. The eggs that have Um died is whats happened to them are the white ones and if you look carefully the whole rock is covered in eggs. http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/sailing_derrick/fish178.jpg http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/sailing_derrick/fish184.jpg http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr5/sailing_derrick/fish172.jpg More and more are going white:mad:, its been 3 days so hopefully they will hatch soon i'm getting worried that they all will go off, put meth blue to keep fungus away.

Btw, did you raise their temp a bit? Apparently the fry will hatch sooner then...

There were about 100 left this morning before i left for work, put the temp up about 2 degrees as not to upset my other fish too much.

All gone as of today, i suspect my oscars had something to do with it as they just laid eggs on the rock next to the one the jags used. I'll Make another thread with some photos.
