heya Derrick,

What about making your own?

Thats exactly what i'm thinking, I'm off to the river today so i'll look around for some clay, also thinking maybe some peat moss, vermiculite (worm poo ) and maybe even some pottery clay. I just dont want to make it too strong as it prob wont be good if it had too much of the good stuff in it. Also i'm not exactly sure about the pottery clay. I am a bit worried that peat moss will bring the Ph down too much. I also have no clue where to get vermiculite, ( there are plenty of websites selling worm farms but not the end product:mad:).

Vermiculite you should be able to get at any nursery. It is actually not worm poo, but a clay type of mineral that has been expanded under heat- " stone popcorn kind of thing". I don't think it will work in a tank as it is very light and will float on water. Not sure if you are looking for vermiculite or worm poo.
