Hi all,
thought I would share the last pic of my shelly tank as it is. This standard 2ft (60l) will be replaced by a tank that I built myself :) The new tank is 910x400x350 - 5mm glass (125l) and will be set up later in the week.

All the wee fish you see in there are the offspring of a breeding pair of N. Brevis (I have more fry elsewhere in another tank). There are 2 lots of fry in there approximately 3 weeks age difference.

Currently the tank is filtered with an AquaClear 20 and a sponge filter. These filters will go straight into the new tank and I will be adding another AquaClear 20 to the mix. Thinking of removing all the AquaClears in favour of a Fluval105, still undecided about that though. What do you folks think?

The fry are getting close to being ready for new homes if any of you folks are interrested in starting a shelly tank, throw me a PM

Will post pics of the new tank once everything is settled.

Hey bud!

So I take it the 'water test' went well? No leaks? Good job for a first time build then.
We want to see pic's of the NEW tank!

I would go with the fluval cannister. I'm not a great fan of canisters but instead of 2 hob's I'd go with the fluval. I have a 304 on one tank and I cant complain, its a decent filter. I just hate the maintenance part on cannisters!

Keep us posted and post pics when done!

Marco

Hey Marco, I put the tank on some newspaper and filled it to the brim. I let that stand for 24 hours. I couldnt find any evidence of water on the newspaper so I will consider that a win :)
