View Full Version : Albino Cory Spawn!!!!
Hey all
My Albino started to spawn, and i have 3 eggs so far
yippeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!:bigsmile::bigsmile::bigsmil e::bigsmile:
Congrats .. think you are need a few more tanks soon - again !!!!
Oh yes, the thing is, my female's bottom fins are small, and not 100%, so as she swims, she drops the eggs, and all my other fish chow them, i only have 4 eggs now...
So she is not laying them against something?
Nope, she keeps on dropping them in the mid part of the tank,, and then they fall to the bottom, and then all the other fish get some breakfast... i got 10-12 eggs now.

Vez Congratulations!
If I may share your joy, I woke yesterday morning to find that my pink Cories had also spawned!
Found little batches of eggs stuck to the front and side glass.
Can't wait for them to start hatching!
Thanks dude
i wish mine did the same, and dropped them on someting, then i would have had plenty of eggs, but its only the first time, and i see my other female starting to get fat, and the male has started to "flirt" with her!
And congratz on yours!!!!!
i fed mine bbs from a day or few after they hatched. If you need eggs let me know, have some to spare. Think after a day I noticed tiny black dots in the eggs and then a few went cloudy too pretty quickly.
Ok if the female is just dropping them when is the male fertilizing them?

Vis, look carefully at the photos, the female is in the classic T-position, sucking in sperm, and passing it through the intestine, and out, over the eggs, that she dropped and hold it in the pocket of her pelvic fins, thus fertilizing it! This method of fertilization is well known to be a trait of many Cories.
Thanks Gert, did not know that.
Congrats. I still want to try breed corys!
Thanks all
Just had a look, and it seems that i have 20 or so eggs, and they are in a guppy breeder now, will have to move them into a other one, and this ones has big"ish" holes, and think the small ones will slip out.

To Cories, a drop in water temp, means new fresh water and breeding time!
One can also achieve this by switching the heater off or a good water change!
hope this works

Thanks dude
Will keep TASA posted
Got home to a tank full of empty cory eggs, as my 2nd female spawned through the day. I dont think my first batch of eggs are going to make it, as i have seen they need to turn darker, and i dont see a dark dot in them. hope they make it.
