Interesting Ves.

What gravel you using?
What "maintenance" did you do to the tank?
What have you got covering the inlet to the back sump?
Fish?

I personally find the hill to be a little too high and overpowering.... I get the feeling you wanting a white "plain" with this stark contrasting rocks?

1- A combo of white gravel and some large white pebbles
2-cleaned the tank, then i sealed some of the wooden parts, added a cfl, redid the white top inside, took the tank to a glass cutting shot, and they conected the 3 drilled holes, to make a solid "U" in the glass, water falls into small section and gets blown out with the mini powerhead
3-will mod that mesh that you used, or maybe some of the black ones i have??
4-Dont know as yet, maybe wait and get some endlers again?

i know the hill is on the high side,, but the look i want is, thatthe small piece of ground cover can grow, and cover the whole top, the rocks are only Temp, as i am looking for some black ones....

Noob mistake . . .

Get rid of 50% of those pebbles. How is it affecting your parameters? Are you testing for anything?

Silica is the safest way to go and it looks awesome :)

Just be cautious. You are not testing water just for the fish . . .but for the plants too . .

I think this has potential with a minimalist look, also try the Cool White Phillips Genie cfl. I think a stark white light would amp your effect nicely. I can picture this with a betta for a dramatic look.

Keep us posted :)

Thanks all

all the gravel and pebs came from a LPS (Daro products) so i should think its safe for my tank? i need a new CFL, as this one is a "Warm White" as they did not have the same as my old one "Cool Daylight"

i want the top part to be covered witt the ground cover, and i will begin with the moss this weekend, make a carpet in the bottom right hand corner

and then all i need is, a few black rocks, to replace the brown ones, then im done.

The pebbles should be fine Vez. I've used even the normal garden pebbles before (in that exact tank too!) with no problems.

Your flow diagram is perfect. In the "overflow" chamber just put a sponge in there to do your mecahnical filtration, and chuck in your bio media (ceramic rings, siporax, matrix) into the last chamber. a 25W Daro heater also fits perfectly in the back... just watch the water levels.

With regards to the scaping:

I would personally put the moss on the top section (maybe between sheet's of mesh?) and the ground cover on the lower section. The moss grows pretty bushy, and may have an "overpowering" effect on the ground cover plants. Also bare in mind that whilst that gravel looks stunning now (being bright white) over time (I give it 5 weeks) they will turn a very dark blue/black from algae and dirt.

Cool Daylight Tornado & Genie globes are available from Makro and Builder's Warehouse. (near my place). Seen them both with stock recently.

Thanks Zoom

i used the mesh u used on the over flow, to cover that up, and i think you are right with the "lay out" of the tank, will re-do it a bit over the weekend. Now all i need are the fish for the tank. i used 10L from my 3ft tank, to fill this one up, and adding a bit of fish food now and again.
