hey guys.i have decided to convert a tank into a planted tank (tank was originally meant for breeding pleco but decided to give them their own tank...now i have a problem...i am thinking of making a diy substrate to ensure good growth...can anyone provide me with a good recipe?nothing too hectic..things i can get from local nursery (probably stodels as its the nearest to my place).also...has anyone used earthworm castings in their substrate...found this on a forum...

ALSO...anyone know where i can get t4 light bulbs at good price in cape town...i have a sakura t4 light fitting i want to modify to fit my tank...PLEASE help me out guys
