View Full Version : How much (if any) aeration required in a plants only tank??
I have plenty empty tanks atm and want to propagate some plants in them..... Just how essential is aeration in these tanks and if required..... how strong??....
if Its just plants, with proper lighting Its better with no airation because plants can use the excess co2 if any. What u need though is some water movement to prevent stagnating water..
It dark now - will take a picture .. - but I have a small tank - water area is more than what the tank is deep - substrate is used silica - it is outside but does not get direct sunlight but does get natural light.
No pump = no filtration or aeration - it has 8 guppies, they might get fish food once a week, if - no WC ... and not to bad plant growth.
I'll get a pic and post it. The plants do pearl in the late afternoon - so that is more than enough oxygen for the fish.
Later Ferdie
